Cultures de Chez Nous calmest time of the year is over. The months of July and August are when our folks can rest up a bit and take a few days of well earned vacation.  

But the leeks don't take vacations as they soak up the gifts of summer in order to be at their very best. During July and August, one of our crews takes care of weeding the leek fields by hand in order to use as little pesticides as possible. All summer long our job is to ensure that our leeks are at their best, from head to toe then, come September, we all prepare for another lively period... harvest time !

So, the time has come when we must start harvesting our 4 000 000 leeks. This is the period when Quebec grown leek arrive in all the grocery chains. Then, around mid-October, a team takes care of harvesting the 1 000 000 leeks remaining in our fields in order to store them in our enormous cold rooms. Once in storage, they can easily be kept for 3 months, allowing us to provide you whit fresh Quebec leeks until the month of February. Les Cultures de Chez Nous inc.
